National: Valvoline Cummins Private Limited, a leader in engine oil manufacturing and a pioneer in mobility solutions, proudly marks the 6th edition of Mechanics’ Month, a global initiative recognising the dedication and expertise of mechanics. This year’s theme, ‘The Future is in Your Hands’, highlights the critical role mechanics play in shaping the mobility landscape and driving progress across industries.

Since its inception in 2020, Mechanics’ Month has expanded from 15 countries to over 62, growing into a global movement that celebrates and supports the mechanic community. Valvoline Cummins remains deeply committed to empowering mechanics and their families through education, skill development, and community upliftment.

As part of this year’s Mechanics’ Month celebrations, Valvoline Cummins reinforced its commitment to supporting mechanics and their families through the Muskaan Scholarship Programme. This initiative provides financial aid, mentorship, and access to digital learning tools, ensuring that children of truck drivers, mechanics, and the children of EWS communities can pursue higher education and build a brighter future. During the recently held Mechanics’ Meet at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, New Delhi, Valvoline honoured mechanics and their families with a felicitation ceremony. The event celebrated the contributions of the mechanics in shaping the future of the nation and felicitating the meritorious scholarship awardees through digital resources. Select recipients received laptops and tablets to enhance their learning experience, further strengthening the Company’s mission of education and digital empowerment.

Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins, emphasised the significance of the initiative, stating, “With the 6th edition of Mechanics’ Month, we are proud to celebrate the hands that keep the world moving. This felicitation ceremony is our way of recognising the hard work and dedication of mechanics. By investing in their families through education and technology, we are shaping the future of mobility together.”

In the 2024-25 financial year, the Muskaan Scholarship Programme benefited 1,800 students, with an inspiring 58 per cent of recipients being female students. Since its launch, the initiative has positively impacted over 5,400 youth, helping them overcome barriers to education. Additionally, the company has introduced digital classrooms in government schools and established six technology labs, fostering a tech-driven learning environment.

This year’s felicitation ceremonies were held across key transport hubs in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala, ensuring widespread recognition and support for the mechanic community.
