PNB Donates Emergency Vehicle to Bhaoroa Deoras Sewa Nyas

New Delhi, October 26, 2020: As a part of their CSR initiative, the nation’s leading public sector bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB) donated an emergency vehicle to Bhaoroa Deoras Sewa Nyas. The vehicle is to be used by the Nyas for the help of sick persons and their families who visit Delhi for treatment at AIIMS. The Hon’ble Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Harsh Vardhan, along with Shri CH SS Malikarjuna Rao, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, handed over the key to the Trust.

Appreciating PNB’s contribution, The Hon’ble Union Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “PNB has always been supportive of the Government’s initiative in serving the society. In these current times, these vehicles play a critical role and could serve more people who need urgent care without any delay. PNB’s numerous steps like the donation to PM-CARES Fund and organising a nationwide CSR campaign of distributing masks and sanitisers are appreciable. I congratulate PNB for their constant contribution towards fighting this pandemic. I am confident that with the collective efforts of all, we shall overcome this phase as well.”

Commenting on this occasion, Shri CH SS Malikarjuna Rao, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer said, “The health and safety of our people is one of our top priorities, especially during these difficult times. PNB has always been at the forefront to support the community at large. This donation further reinforces our commitment towards giving back to society. I assure that PNB, as a responsible and empathetic institution, will continue to contribute towards such missions in the future too, for the progress of the nation.”

Recently, PNB distributed approximately 10 lakh masks and sanitisers in 662 districts of the country through its 10,000 + branches to combat COVID-19.  As a mark of respect to the Galwan Valley’s martyrs, PNB honoured the martyr’s family on the eve of the 74th Independence Day.

The Bank has also felicitated meritorious students and used the revered day – September 5, i.e., Shikshak Diwas, to honour ten thousand renowned teachers for their immense contribution to society. PNB also donated 40 lakhs to the PM-CARES Fund under the Digital Apnayen Campaign. On October 2, PNB launched the Gram Sampark Yojna for providing various banking facilities to the farmers of 500 districts in rural and semi-urban areas.
