India: Century Ply, a pioneer in the Indian plywood industry, has reinforced its commitment to social responsibility through impactful CSR initiatives in the southern region of India. With a focus on community welfare, education, and sustainability, these efforts have brought meaningful change to lives across Chennai and Gummidipoondi.
CenturyPly has been making significant strides in Tamil Nadu. The State contributes 27 per cent of CenturyPly’s plywood production and is the sole contributor to their particle board output. As a part of their CSR initiative, the brand took the #QuenchTheThirst initiative under which over 1,000 cement water bowls were placed across Chennai for stray animals and birds during peak summer, saving countless lives over three consecutive years.
Additionally, the brand also celebrated the fifth edition of#iamstrongest Awards where they celebrate social champions, including animal welfare advocates and Tamil Nadu’s Olympic medallists. The #iamstrongest achievement initiative honoured 23 academic toppers from Madanlal Khemani Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Gummidipoondi.
The Company is also empowering the Deaf Community in partnership with the Deaf Enabled Foundation, fostering education and inclusivity and provided Solar-powered umbrellas to street vendors, while an RO Drinking Water Plant was installed at a zoo, enhancing sustainability and accessibility.
